USING 3D MOLD TO BRING THE DEPTH FOR PINS

Custom 3D die cast pins offer a depth and design flexibility not found on standard die struck enamel pins. This manufacturing style employs spincasting of molten metal to achieve a level of detail that really stands out for awards of service, recognition or promotional events.

3D molds are a great solution to add dimension and detail to your pin design.A 3D mold can be used to capture a more accurate likeness of a person,or capture tiny details such as windows on a skyscraper or door handles on a car.

3D molds are made by digitally rendering a 3D relief image, casting that image into a mold, and melting metal into the mold, much like casting a sculpture.

Do you know what is the 3D mold pin ?

Typically, custom lapel pins consist of raised metal lines over recessed areas. These recessed areas can be filled with color or left empty, creating a 2D image much like a cartoon. For designs with more detailed aspects, however, some added depth may be in order. 3D molds are a great solution to add dimension and detail to your pin design. 3D molds are made by digitally rendering a 3D relief image, casting that image into a mold, and melting metal into the mold, much like casting a sculpture. They can be an excellent addition to a pin design, helping your art truly stand out.

What Are 3D Die Cast Pins?

Creating a custom die cast lapel pin involves pouring molten metal into a pre-made mold under high pressure. The end result is a clean, smooth surface and an equally precise product from pouring the contents under high pressure. Because they are more complex and made by hand, the molds used to manufacture casting take somewhat longer to produce than conventional 2D dies. After the color has been poured and hardened, it's time to apply the plating.

Die-cast pins are made through the casting process, as opposed to the stamping or die-striking processes of other pin styles. Casting is performed by first creating a custom mold based on the particular pin's design. Liquid metal is then injected or poured into the mold, creating a three-dimensional representation of the design. Die casting features a design's most sophisticated details, contours, and varied textures better than die-striking.

3d pins are produced by the die-casting technique, in which molten metal is injected into a mold to fill in the gaps and crevices of the design. The contents of the mold are removed when the hot metal has hardened and cooled, leaving a three-dimensional appearance.

You may further develop your own 3D pin by adding color: Don't think a die-cast pin has to be only black and white or remain the same color as the surface material. Color accents and details are absolute musts if you want your finished 3d custom lapel pinto stand out and shine. Finish your creation with gold, silver, or bronze plating to add textures and finishes for extra detail.

2D Mold vs 3D Mold Lapel Pins: Which is Better?

ere's a lot of confusion about the distinctions between 2-D and 3-D lapel pins. Two-dimensional art only has two layers, but three-dimensional designs have three. This is an excellent choice for a text-only or silhouette custom piece. A 3-D or 3-dimensional surface offers more texture and detail possibilities than a 2-D one does. A 3-D design is ideal for emulating natural settings since it may provide the level of detail that makes it seem more like a physical model than just a flat surface or image.

To create the intricacies of your design, even two-dimensional designs are built with a raised section and a recessed area. While we can sometimes increase the number of levels on your design to get the desired effect, 3D sculpting may add the most detail and realism to your finished product.

Three-dimensional dies provide greater relief and contrast than two-dimensional dies, which is not possible using conventional die-striking techniques. Rather than a single raised area and one recessed area (as in 2D styles), this type of sculpting depicts topographical features to create the complicated shapes and fine detail of living creatures, architectural replicas, and people's faces.

3D cast pins can incorporate true depth, curves and dimensional qualities that can bring your pin to life.  Pins thicker than 3mm will have a higher unit cost & possibly a mold fee depending upon requirements. In Kingtai, you can realize everything what you want to do !
