Custom Enamel Pin Process
Step 1: Learn A Bit About Our Enamel Pins
To create these products, a metal mold of the desired design is formed. Once this mold is in place, you can elect to mix & match enamel and metal colors within the same order at no extra cost, provided no change to the metal mold (inc back stamp) occurs – minimum 20 pcs per variation.
All enamel colors in the design must be separated by metal – similar to a dam – to prevent spillage and contamination of colors.
Step 2: Choose Your Design
Have artwork already? Perfect! Have an idea in mind? No problem! Our team can create an amazing enamel product design to suit your requirements.
Customers who provide acceptable, original artwork for their product will not be charged this design fee.
Please note we respect and admire the designs from other companies and artists, therefore we do not reproduce these designs or copyrighted images for customers – however we welcome any inspiration you have to help us create a new, original design for you.
Step 3: Choose Your Metal Colour
There are a variety of metal colors available, like nickel, gold, brass, silver, copper, black, antique nickel, antique copper, antique brass,etc.
Step 4: Choose Your Size
We can create lapel pins from 1.5cm, all the way up to over 5cm! We do find that our most popular lapel pins are approx. 3-3.5cm in diameter.

Step 5: Choose Your Colour
With over 800 pantone-equivalent colors available, you are sure to find the perfect shade of enamel!
We also offer Glitter and Glow in the Dark options for an additional fee. These are available for soft enamel products only.

Step 6: Choose Your Hardware
For backing hardware, the black rubber clutch and the military metal are standard choices and are included in the base price. Coloured clutches and different attachments (i.e. key rings / tie pins) incur an additional cost per unit.
Custom backing cards can also be provided – quoted on request and starting at $150. Delivery for 250 backing cards (this excludes design fees if no artwork supplied).
Step 7: Hard Or Soft Enamel
A question that commonly comes around is the difference between Hard & Soft Enamel. Choosing the right finish is crucial in how the overall pin looks and the kind of style you are after!
Despite the name, Soft Enamel is not actually “soft”. Soft Enamel refers to the way the pin is created. The metal is filled with enamel and the enamel colour sits below the metal; Producing a textured 3D effect.
Hard Enamel however, is polished back to make the metal sit flush with the enamel colour. Hard Enamel generally looks more professional however Soft Enamel is quite popular within the art community.

What is your minimum order?
Our minimum order quantity is 100. In certain situations, we can manufacture and sell orders as small as 50 hard enamel pins, but there is a below-minimum fee that often applies and the unit pricing is higher than that at quantity 100. Please contact us for additional details.
How long does it take to get my hard enamel pins?
Although every hard enamel pins is a little different, since everything we make is 100% custom, our orders typically deliver 7-10 business days after you pay for your order. That said, if you require a quicker turnaround, we will make every effort to accommodate it.
Can I get my hard enamel pins faster than the typical turnaround time?
Even though our standard turnaround times are some of the fastest in the industry, we understand that sometimes you need your hard enamel pins even quicker than usual. As such, we work with all customers to understand their deadlines at the beginning of the quoting process. We can either work with our production team to shave a few days off the delivery date or we can guide you into an alternate product type that can more easily facilitate rush production.
